A sample pick

Sample brief: a 17-year-old sibling who plays shooters on a PS5, already has the standard controller and a TV, and a budget of $60. This is an example of what a pick looks like, not a real order.

Controller with rear paddles

PS5 · Pairs with the console they own

Why it fits
They play shooters on a PS5 with the standard controller. Rear paddles let them jump and aim without taking a thumb off the stick.
The catch
The battery runs down sooner than the standard one, and the paddles take some getting used to.
Where to buy
Major electronics retailers or direct from the maker. Check the box says PS5.

Every catch said out loud

Jays names every pick's catch out loud and takes zero money from any store. A gift is on the list because it fits their setup, and for no other reason.
